Tower Research Capital is hiring Reliability Engineer

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Reliability Engineer to join our Referential Data team.

The Referential Data division is responsible for providing a consistently accurate and up-to-date copies of global security, market, and related referential data for firm-wide use in all stages of the trade lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and maintaining the next-generation reference data platforms at Tower
  • Working with trade support and developers across multiple regions to resolve production issues
  • Interacting with trading teams and users to handle issues
  • Analyzing production issues and implementing corrective measures to prevent them from recurring
  • Documenting production issues and production interventions taken
  • Logging incident tickets and attending regular incident review meetings
  • Supporting new execution venues, trading products, and data vendors
  • Taking end-to-end ownership: development, testing, release and support.
  • Validating market data changes are correct and modifying generated reports when necessary
  • Monitoring job scheduler and custom alerting platform
  • Establishing certification criteria for enhancements and/or new products to be released into production and integrating such into the testing and deployment process

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years working in a high pressure environment, including diagnosing and resolving production issues on the fly
  • At least 1-2 years experience working with Enterprise applications written in Java, Python, Linux shell scripting, and job schedulers
  • At least 1-2 years experience working with SQL (ie. MySQL, PostGres) and NoSQL (ie. MongoDB) databases
  • Comfortable working in an UNIX environment along with good shell scripting skills
  • Experience with Security Masters, Reference Data, or Market Data infrastructure
  • Good understanding of electronic trading and/or financial instruments including equities, commodities, credit, interest rates, foreign exchange, cryptocurrencies, futures, forwards, and options
  • Exposure to an Agile development environment, use of JIRA and test driven development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
