Akamai’s Infrastructure Engineering & Operations organization builds and maintains Akamai’s Platform one of the world’s largest distributed platforms. Our Hardware Engineering team is responsible for designing, qualifying, and validating servers destined for our growing network.

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer II, you will be responsible for operations in our global data centers. You will monitor and maintain our data centers, networks, and servers worldwide.
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer II, you will be responsible for-
- Working closely with field technicians, ISPs and Akamai partners for installation and maintenance of Akamai Network Infrastructure.
- Managing new network installations, working closely with Network Engineers, Contract Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Working closely with field technicians, ISPs, customers, equipment vendors, and internal operations and engineering staff. During post and pre-install stages of deployment projects.
- Designing, deploying, configuring and maintaining networks.
- Diagnosing hardware problems, facilitate server repairs, and manage Akamai’s hardware assets remotely.
- Maintaining documentation related to data center processes, procedures, and configurations.
Do What You Love
To be successful in this role you will-
- 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in network/server hardware.
- Have strong layer 2 troubleshooting skills and basic layer 3 concepts.
- Be familiar with the Unix/Linux command-line interface (CLI).
- Have goal-oriented attitude to work through roadblocks, attend to details, and bring about project closure.
- Be a good team player with excellent presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
