Juniper Networks is hiring 63414P-Software Engineer 4 (AIDE Testing)

Responsibilities:

  • Feature Testing and Automation: Develop, execute, and automate detailed, complex feature test plans in the following areas – Execute, Automate detailed very complex feature test plans in the areas of EVPN, EVPN-VXLAN, Multicasting. 802.1X authentication, MAC address filtering, and DHCP snooping, Firewall, DDoS, Quality of Service (QoS),
  • Automate Test Cases for Future Releases: The engineer will automate the test cases outlined in the test plans, employing advanced scripting techniques and languages like Python. The automated scripts will be reviewed with stakeholders and integrated into the mainline regression process. As the owner of the test suite, the engineer will address any issues reported in the automated scripts.
  • Handle Customer Escalations and Assist in Replication: The engineer will participate in major customer escalations, collaborating with other stakeholders to understand the problem. They will investigate and narrow down issues related to the platform, feature, or design, and replicate the reported issue, aiding the development team in identifying potential software fixes.
  • Fill Test Coverage Gaps Based on Customer Feedback: The engineer will review issues discovered during field deployment and conduct root cause analysis to address any gaps in test coverage. When analyzing test results, they will identify any gaps and understand the specific deployment context for our customers. If any issues arise, they will replicate them in our lab environment.
  • Automate Coverage Gaps: The engineer will use a test automation framework to automate coverage for any gaps discovered. This ensures continual regression testing in future releases.
  • Networking and Software Expertise: The engineer will develop expertise in networking and software technologies. They will engage in technical forums to stay updated on emerging trends within the networking industry.
  • Certifications and Innovation: The engineer will take necessary certifications to enhance their knowledge. They will use this knowledge to bring innovative ideas to their daily tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Automation Background and Python Proficiency: The candidate with 6 to 10 years of experience and should have a strong background in automation. Proficiency in Python is essential for developing automation scripts and tools.
  • Technology Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in the following technologies is required: EVPN, EVPN-VXLAN, L2CKT, L2VPN, Multicast, 802.1X authentication, MAC address filtering, and DHCP snooping, Firewall, DDoS, Quality of Service (QoS),
  • Automation Framework Skills: The candidate should be adept at using automation frameworks. Proficiency in creating new automation libraries and implementing complex automation algorithms is essential. Familiarity with ROBOT (a popular automation framework) is beneficial.
  • Networking Test Equipment: Experience with networking test equipment like Spirent/IXIA
